AN IMPORTANT INDEPENDENT 3RD PARTY LINK REGARDING KN95 MASKS
Top of page 2 of the link below from 3M:
“Based on this comparison, it is reasonable to consider China KN95, AS/NZ P2, Korea 1st Class, and Japan DS FFRs as “equivalent” to US NIOSH N95 and European FFP2 respirators, for filtering non-oil-based particles such as those resulting from wildfires, PM 2.5 air pollution, volcanic eruptions, or bioaerosols (e.g. viruses). However, prior to selecting a respirator, users should consult their local respiratory protection regulations and requirements or check with their local public health authorities for selection guidance.”
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING PRICING:
As you can see, the cost of the masks run approximately $2.50 per mask at retail for each pack. This is significantly cheaper than the price quoted on this recent article from Yahoo Finance on March 25 where other American companies have announced the same KN95 masks were to be
"...sold at a price of $59.99 for a package containing 10 masks or $149.99 for a package containing 30 masks. “
That is $5.99 per mask on the 10 pack and $4.99 per mask on the 50 pack. That is respectively 1.68 and 1.42 times more expensive than what we are currently charging.
CDC GUIDELINES ON CORONAVIRUS AND RESPIRATORS
“Those with equivalent or similar protection to NIOSH-approved respirators may be available to provide respiratory protection to workers exposed to harmful airborne particulate matter. These devices are expected to be suitable alternatives to provide protection during the COVID-19 response when supplies are short. The country, conformity assessment standards, acceptable product classifications, standards and guidance documents, and protection factor determination are provided in alphabetical order. All of these respirators have protection factors of at least 10 in the countries listed below, as outlined in the standards and guidance documents specified.“
Duke University rated these masks no. 1 . So I am glad I ordered them.
Masks came on time. Good protection
There was a mix up and it took almost a month for me to get my masks. The elastic bands are a bit short - they feel tight at the ears for long wearing - but they still work.
The masks are too small. It doesn’t reach to the ear.
